A NIGHT IN TAHITI
Hālau Makana is preparing to send our very own Makana Iulio to Tahiti to represent the group, as well as the United States, in the international 'Ori Tahiti Nui competition this November. Makana is one of our principle dancers and instructors, and has an accomplished history of dance on competitive, professional, and philanthropic levels.
Makana will be traveling to compete in solo and group competitons, as well as receive Certification of 'Ori Tahiti education at the Conservatoire Artistique de la Polynésie Française.
This fundraiser will help pay for her training hours, competition fees, costumes, travel, Conservatoire tuition, and other Cultural Education trip expenses.
Additionally, Hālau Makana is collaborating with Alameda Adaptive Arts to put on an unforgettable performance of music and dance. Alameda Adaptive Arts (AAA) is an organization that helps young adults with special needs find their voices and learn independent daily life skills through song and dance.
This event will also help fund the classes and activities offered through AAA. Visit AlamedaAdaptiveArts.org
