Makana is a 1st Place award-winning Competition Soloist as well as a Best Dancer award recipient from the Conservatoire Artistique de Polynésie Française in Tahiti in December 2019 and Top Honors in 2022. Makana is a lead principal dancer in Hula, Tahitian & Maori Dance. She teaches Hula, Traditional 'Ori Tahiti and 'Ori Rau, a tradition-based dance infused with creative contemporary choreography.

Dorothy is a certified fitness instructor and created our Saturday morning Polynesian Dance Conditioning (PDC) Class. She has been on the Golden State Warrior's Hardwood Classics professional dance team for the past 3 seasons, a principal Jazz and Ballet dancer for Dance 10 studios, and a lead principal dancer for Hālau Makana in Hula and Tahitian Mehura.
