Makana is a local and international 1st Place and overall award-winning 'Ori Tahiti soloist, as well as a Best Dancer award recipient from Heiva i Paris 2025 and the Conservatoire Artistique de Polynésie Française 2019. Her most recent achievement being featured in the Live Action Moana 2026 movie teaser trailer. Trained both classically and traditionally in Hula, 'Ori, and Māori dance she leads our classes with a lifetime of mana'o and experience.

Dorothy is a certified fitness instructor who created our Saturday morning Polynesian Dance Conditioning (PDC) Class. She has been on the Golden State Warrior's Hardwood Classics professional dance team for the past 4 seasons, a principal Jazz and Ballet dancer for Dance 10 studios, and a lead principal dancer for Hālau Makana in Hula and Tahitian Mehura.
