Class Descriptions:
Keiki 1 Hula (Beginner Kids Hula)
Kids will learn the basic steps of Hula and some words of the Hawaiian language. Students will receive an introduction to protocol and history through movement and music of Hawai’i.
Keiki 2 Hula (Int/Advanced Kids Hula)
Students have a thorough knowledge of cultural protocol and can execute specific basic hula steps and gestures. Students in the int/adv class dive deeper into cultural concepts, history, and language. Difficult choreography is to be expected at this level.
Tamari'i 'Ori Tahiti (All levels Kids Tahitian Dance)
Kids learn the basic steps and words of ‘Ori Tahiti (Tahitian dance) and the Reo Tahiti (Tahitian language). Students will get a glimpse into the world of recreational and competitive ‘Ori Tahiti with mini projects, performances, and in-house competitions.
Adult (B) Hula (Beginners Adult Hula)
learn the basic steps and words of Hula and the Hawaiian language. Students will receive an introduction to protocol and history through movement and music of Hawai’i.
Adult (A) Hula (Int/Advanced Adult Hula) students have a thorough knowledge of cultural protocol and can execute 20-30 specific basic hula steps and gestures. Students in the intermediate/advanced class dive deeper into cultural concepts, history, and language. Difficult choreography is to be expected at this level.
Kupuna Hula (All levels Gracious Ladies Hula) our Kupuna hula class is a soft paced, low intensity dance class where men and women can exercise their bodies and enjoy beautiful melodies of Hawai’i. Every other month Kupuna hula students will receive an introduction or re-introduction to class protocol, basic steps, and language; as well as a new piece of choreography
Polynesian Dance Conditioning (Exercise with Polynesian Fused Movements) upbeat and fun recreational class good for technique and exercise
